The first Art Basel started 10 years ago in Miami Beach and now has spread to other parts of the city. It has become a huge success and Miami Beach is still the epicenter.  There are and have been events through out Dade County featuring many artists from around the world.

Be sure to check out Midtown, The Wynwood area and the Design District.

This is such a wonderful time to be in Miami. The climate is near perfect and there is so much going on.  Don’t forget to go to Collins Park  and

The New World Symphony  Collins park will be transformed in to several works of art.  You can also download an App on your mobile phone or yourI Pad,   search for Art Basel Miami Beach.  Do not forget that the Bass museum on Miami Beach offers all types of interesting events year all year.   If you do go the Miami Beach Convention Center ( this is ground zero for Art Basel) you may either want to valet or there is the public parking garage a few blocks away , I believe that it is on 17 and Collins behind Lincoln Road .  In any case you will be doing a lot of walking once you are inside so make sure you have comfortable shoes and a camera. There is always lots to see.

If you bring young children, they may get bored after  10 or 15 minutes- good news there is a place of kids on site, under the supervision on the Miami Children’s Museum 

There are many fine Restaurants near  by such as Mr Chow (305 695-1695)  at 2201 Collins Ave, located in the W Hotel , Miami Beach. 

And a cab ride away is Joe’s Stonecrab, however, they may be booked or the or have a waiting list.
