One of the charms of Miami is that it is a work in progress.  International well known luxury brands such as Hermes and Louis Vuitton are not renewing their leases at the shops of Bal Harbour located in Miami Beach.

Instead, Hermes is taking the causeway to the Design District in Miami. Hermes will have there flagship store ready by 2012.

The Miami Design district is just of Biscayne Blvd and NW 36 Street.  5 Minutes from Miami Beach and 25 minutes from Coral Gables.

The Design District has been there for decades and has gone through many ups and downs. There are many great  restaurants and beautiful stores from all over.   If you have never been there it is worth going to see especailly if it is good enough for Louis.
